Day 1: Atar – Amatlich – Azoiga Oasis
- Morning – Departure from Atar towards Azoiga.

– Visit Graritte Livrasse Oasis. - Overnight: Bivouac under the stars or in a nomad tent at Azoiga
Day 2: Foum Tizigui Pass – El Meddah Oasis
- Morning – Breakfast and departure.
- Activities:
– Cross Foum Tizigui Pass in the Amatlich dunes, a former Paris Dakar rally route.
– Continue to El Meddah Oasis, the largest palm grove in Mauritania.
– Meet local nomadic communities. - Overnight: Bivouac under the stars or in a nomad tent.
Day 3: Echaïla Palm Grove – Erch Plain
- Morning – Departure to El Gleïtat Oasis.
- Activities:
– Walk through Echaïla Palm Grove, hidden among the rocks.
– Discover ancient rock shelters with prehistoric paintings.
– Visit Erch Plain, a fertile agricultural area where nomads cultivate haricot beans and white melons after rains. - Overnight: Bivouac under the stars or in a nomad tent.
Day 4: Tifoujar Pass – Terjit – N’Tourvine Pass – Mheirth
- Morning – Drive to the summit of Tifoujar Pass.
- Activities:
– Admire the 200 m drop into Oued El-Abiod.
– Arrive at Terjit Oasis with its natural thermal waters and pools.
– Continue through N’Tourvine Pass to Mheirth Oasis. - Overnight: Bivouac under the stars or in a nomad tent.
Day 5: Mheirth – Ouadane
- Morning – Walk through the oasis of Mheirth.
- Activities:
– Continue to Ouadane, a historic caravan town.
– Visit the local museum.
– Explore Guelb er Richat (“Eye of the Sahara”). - Overnight: Inn in Ouadane.
Day 6: Chinguetti
- Morning – Breakfast and departure.
- Activities:
– Visit Chinguetti, the 7th holiest city ofIslam.
– Explore the old town, museum, and historic libraries (UNESCO site). - Overnight: Inn in Chinguetti.
Day 7: Amogjar Canyon – Atar – Azougui
- Morning – Breakfast and departure.
- Activities:
– Visit Amogjar Canyon with its prehistoric rock paintings.
– Stop at the filming site of Fort Saganne.
– Continue to Atar, the capital of the Adrar region.
– Visit Azougui,former Almoravid capital and historic religious site. - Overnight: Bivouac under the stars or in a nomad tent
Day 8: Azougui – Choum
- Morning – Breakfast and departure.
- Activities:
– Travel to Choum.
– Meet the famous Mauritanian mineral train. - Overnight: Bivouac/nomad tent near Choum.
Day 9: Ben-Amira Village
- Morning – Breakfast and departure.
- Activities:
– Explore Tmeimichatte villages.
– Visit Ben Amira Monolith, the largest in Africa and second only to Uluru in Australia. - Overnight: Bivouac near Ben Amira
Day 10: Desert Train – Choum to Nouadhibou
- Afternoon – Board the iron ore train at Choum.
- Activities:
– Unique journey across the Sahara. - Overnight: On the desert train.
Day 11: Nouadhibou
- Morning – Arrival in Nouadhibou.
- Activities:
– Explore the city,fishing port, and Cap Blanc Peninsula.
– Visit the nearby Banc d’Arguin Park area. - Overnight: Inn in Nouadhibou.
Day 12: Banc d’Arguin National Park
- Morning – Breakfast and departure.
- Activities:
– Visit Banc d’Arguin, passing through Imraguen fishing villages. - Overnight: Inn or campsite near Banc d’Arguin
Day 13: Bird Colonies –Banc d’Arguin
- Morning – Boat trip around Banc d’Arguin.
